Festivities

Well, it's been a while since I last took the time to blog and I'm really not going to say a whole lot this time.

Christmas Day... Yay!

Woke up, had a great (and moving) morning in Church, back to the apartment, Naomi slaved away while I enjoyed rest, and a tiny bit of exercise. Still not used to the Aussie weather and the fact you can actually can go outside so did my usual stuffing myself to the point of shear exhaustion ... and, well, you know ALL about it in the heat.

Lulu's revenge...

Well, Lulu's noticed my blog a lot quicker than I'd hoped.

Despite it being obvious that Lulu's not really one to back down from a fight - as you can all see at http://lulupetrina.blogspot.com/ - I can only guess it's because she misses me that much (what else?).

So, I'll just climb onto my moral high horse, have a bit of grace, put an end to the bickering and simply say, sorry Lulu - you're only a Zulu to Daryl.

Quite mad, I know... but what's scarier is that it will make sense to more than just me!

(I just wonder what I'll think when I look back on this in a few years time - hopefully I'll laugh about it...)

Morning coffee or walk of (not-so-much) shame?

I had to blog this but no idea what to say really other than at 8am, those that went out arrived back... :D

Haven't heard from the folks since yesterday. Still plenty to do today and can't wait for tomorrow.

Ooops..

4 days and Lulu hasn't noticed (or at least if she has, I'm not aware of it). Anyway, the problem is that other people have because I accidentally blogged it to the wedding site as well (a little inappropriate).

Talking of weddings, we're just back from Alfie and Hugi's wedding which was (as you'd expect with this amazing couple) simple, elegant and wonderfully well organised. It was a privilege and an honour for us to be there.

Tim, Richard, Lynn and Jenny have each just headed off to China town to grab a bite before catching up with Ang to head out. Didn't realise that until it was a bit late - the long past few weeks finally caught Naomi and I so we faded on them. Shame, I know they're going to have a great night (which I'd hoped myself would be tomorrow).

Well, tomorrow is a new day after all.

A tribute to Zulu Paprika!!!

OK, so for two weeks now Lulu has maintained a tribute to Beggsyyy!!! so I thought it only fair to return the favour. I wonder how long before:
  1. Lulu notices
  2. and other people notice that I've gone quite mad!

Anyway, I just had a compulsion to blog something... anything ... and my mind clearly isn't at its most creative tonight.
Three days to holidays and some proper rest! :D

Can't wait and still can't believe Muffy will be here in about 36 hours - seems surreal?! Even madder is that my brother, sis, mum and dad will all be here the day after!

Ah well, I'm still tired.

Politics

The whole point of blogging is kind of to dump your mind (I mean it is supposed to be a journal after all). But here's the deal - you can't really. It's not like you can keep it under your bed. It's on the net - people can see it (gee, isn't this a ground-breaking revelation I'm making here?).

But I guess I've just found myself actually wanting to properly blog something and have a bit of a rant but I can't for fear of offending someone, somewhere who reads it.

So can you really have a blog for all to see and be completely open about it? Is it wise to be so open or do opinions change with emotion in such a way that you may have felt a certain way at some point but then, you just got over it?

Anyway, there's really no need to read between the lines - it's been a long week, it's Sunday and I haven't had much of a weekend either.

Still, I know I am being stretched, I know that really, when it comes down to it, everything is alright and I know that wasting time on rants like this one, aren't going to get me any closer to what I need to get done. Luke 12:22-34.

Lulu's Departure

I'm still to find anyone who has met Lulu and NOT said "Lulu, is so amazing!".

And she truly is and I couldn't mean that more about anyone.

I'm really, really sad that she's no longer just down the road and now living it up in the States. But, I have absolutely no doubt that she will go far - very far :0) I can't wait till we can all catch up again.

Anyway, how funny are some of these pictures - this one looks like a classic dodgy model shot with "guy looking pensive".

A Night @ Brown's

A few weeks back Helen (Clarke) held a charity event for Watoto in Brown's on Bourke St in Waterloo. It was a great night - as you come to expect when Helen organises it :0)

Unfortunately, Helen flew back to the UK the following Wednesday so she'll be sorely missed at the wedding in only three weeks time! Posted by Picasa

Hamilton Island

So I spent last week at the Microsoft Australia New Zealand Partner Conference. It was a combination of an unsurprisingly fantastic time with surprisingly tiring and long hours. All in all, though, the conference was pretty amazing.

Pick a day!

OK, so Naomi and I are getting married and right slap bang in the middle of preparations. Things are likely to change but this is what we've got:

Saturday 7 October 2006

  • Church service 12:00pm - God in the City Church, Darlinghurst.
  • Drinks reception 1:30pm - Cruise Bar, Circular Quay (opp. the Opera House)
  • Evening reception 6:30pm - Sorry, family only for this part (it'll be in Cafe Sydney)
  • Evening drinks 10:30pm - The Zeta Bar (for anyone who wants to catch up some more).

A walk in romantic Prague (Engagement Part 5)

The castle at night. When we got to the very top, there was a beautiful church service going on in what is an amazing, inspiring and massive church.
