  • Drinks reception 1:30pm - Cruise Bar, Circular Quay (opp. the Opera House)
  • Evening reception 6:30pm - Sorry, family only for this part (it'll be in Cafe Sydney)
  • Evening drinks 10:30pm - The Zeta Bar (for anyone who wants to catch up some more).

A walk in romantic Prague (Engagement Finale)

The Prgaue museum... the city is fantastic in all respects.

A walk in romantic Prague (Engagement Part 5)

The castle at night. When we got to the very top, there was a beautiful church service going on in what is an amazing, inspiring and massive church.

A walk in romantic Prague (Engagement Part 2)

So, having walked around the beautiful Prague, we finally got in sight of the castle and the Karlov bridge where I asked Naomi to marry me.

Shortly after, we slowly started walking towards the castle when snow started falling.

When we finally arrived at the castle (after a couple of hot whiskeys), it was an amazing, white, picturesque fairy tale place. It really couldn't have been more perfect.

A walk in romantic Prague (Engagement Part 1)

For those of you who don't know, I proposed to Naomi in Prague earlier this year. For those of you who do - here's the story once again.

So, we're both back in the UK from Australia for both of our parents birthday's at the start of March but my flight leaves a week before Naomi's which means we've only a few days overlap in the UK.

I know this is the perfect opportunity to organise a romantic proposal so I spend that week organising a trip to Prague while keeping it a secret from Naomi (or at least so I thought).

So, Naomi arrives on the Thursday and a bunch of us go out for a few drinks and Naomi knows she's going somewhere the next (Jerome - her dad - has been winding her up that it was a trip to Knock). A few beers later and as Naomi and I leave the taxi, Tim (one of my very best friends) says "Have a great in Prague". I did actually manage to convince Naomi that it was a wind up that I'd put Tim up to but that lasted another 2 hours when I foolishly blurted out whether I was going to need a certain t-shirt in Prague.

Anyway, it was never going to be a secret forever so I was pretty glad it had lasted this long.

So, we land in Prague and jump in a taxi. I give the taxi driver an address and before long we're travelling through a large industrial shopping area with massive Tesco and Next signs. I start looking slightly alarmed - Naomi starts looking incredibly worried ("the eejit's booked a dodgy hotel in the middle of nowhere, hasn't he?!").

Anyway, because we were only in Prague for one day I had to make the stop to the jewellers at this point (which, to be honest, I'd rather not have done - but hey, the story's good regardless).

Well, Naomi was getting increasingly nervous and before long, we were outside the jewellers and Naomi was stunned when the assistant recognised me and called me by name. A couple of minutes later, the ring was presented. It was beautiful and remarkably, it fitted perfectly! I say remarkably because this was something I completely forgot about and Naomi was in Australia so working it out so accurately was nothing short of a minor miracle (for which I'll accept no glory whatsoever).

Of course, a jewellery shop isn't the best of locations to pop the big question and Naomi thought she should point out that she hadn't said yes yet. I thought I should remind her "I haven't asked you yet!" Posted by Picasa

The Hijacked 50th Birthday Party (Part 2)

Jerome's perfect day embodied in his cake.

The Hijacked 50th Birthday Party

Well, as part of my rather sneaky plans to ask Naomi to marry me, I also hijacked Naomi's dad - Jerome's 50th Birthday!

Thankfully Jerome didn't really mind his birthday party being hijacked and was actually (thankfully) pretty excited by the announcement.

These are some of the photos from the party itself - mostly my brother, sister, mum, dad, Naomi's brother, sister, mum, dad and obviously a number of Jerome's friends.
I used Picasa to upload this and it feels like a number of photos are missing. I'll check that out. Posted by Picasa

Naomi's Engagement Ring

A few people have been wanting to see Naomi's engagement ring now so I thought it would be easiest just to upload some photos... Riveting stuff!

In the beginning...

...well, I thought it was worth trying blogger since I failed miserably to keep my MSNSpace up to date at all. I'm thinking that blogger's a bit simpler, and that little bit more geeky-cool to keep me interested.

Truthfully I know I'll rarely update my blog but it will help keep the great people I know on the other side of the world (i.e. home) relatively up to date with what I'm up to (well, at least a lot more so than at the moment!).

I hope you all take it easy and be blessed!
