Went to Balmain this morning and on the way back to Chatswood (via Town Hall and QVB) I stopped at a little electronics store (David Reid) that had a closing down sale - after 30 years the rent round there is ridiculous.
Bought a little connector for the phone extension lead and one of the sales guys goes, "So where abouts you from? Newtownards?"
Turns out he's a Northern Irish fella who's been living out here for 20 years (his brother's living in Newtownards).
Anyway, this wee store (can you tell the Northern Irishness being brought out here!) also had some computer bits in it - old school!
They'd old ISA VGA cards, Pentium 1 motherboards (with the old keyboard connectors!), Pentium 2 slot processors, the works. It was really nostalgic seeing all those bits and pieces - quite touching really (I know some reading this will think it's sad but it's my passion).
Beautiful day today. Had a great night last night out with Ang and Catherine in Hugo's followed by Dean's for a coffee (great hit with Naomi and Catherine). Went to Dougal's "leaving" (I think) in Mylk with a slight detour to help a couple of very drunk girls into a cab whenever I was getting some cash out. There was a guy tying to help them, bless him, but he was almost as drunk as they were so it wasn't going exactly to plan :)
