I’m still not sure why Apple skimped on a manual with the iPhone. I can see it may be part of some green stance (which I’m all for) but when you shell out a load of cash for it, you kind of feel a bit ripped off. Besides, one could argue there would be less energy expelled recycling paper than using battery and hosting server electricity to deliver the manual electronically.
Anyway, rants aside, the iPhone is very nifty and niftier so when you know things like the following:
